Where Have I Been????  I've been right here, but the site got hacked by gremlins and so we had to put it into Maintenance Limbo until Joe had time to fix it.  This is what I have been doing.  I have been working on this scarf.Which is knit from Louise Hessert's Alpaca/Merino blend from her very own alpacas and merinos.  It is really this color.....no dyes are involved. I am folding over the scarf to demonstrate one of it's chief beauties which is it's complete reversibility.  Looks exactly the same on the front as the back.  In fact there is no front or back. The pattern for this scarf and the wool itself will be available at the Farmer's Market just outside of the Market Place on Monument Square in Portland on Wednesday's and Wednesdays only.  I am getting a booth there for the summer where I will be trying out materials/goods/services of a Fiber Nature to see what appeals to you in the local area.  Once that starts up (first of June I am thinking) I will do regular Thursday posts about what happened at the Farmer's Market to keep you up to date.

 

Also, this Saturday at 7:00 at Zero Space Gallery in Portland there is a Show Us Your Wears  fashion show.  I have a glove/mitt combo that I designed that will be appearing in that show, and two jackets that I sewed for the Portland Fiber Gallery.  But the most beautiful thing that I have ever made.....my daughter Devan.....will also be appearing as one of the models.  She did this for us last year and it was a smashing success....lots of fun to see the clothes and creativity of the local knitting/crocheting/sewing people.  I will post pictures of the results next week, or you could go and see for yourself.  It is a free and fun evening.
