Elizabeth's Crocheted Slouch Hat |

This slouch hat was created for Elizabeth, who brought me in a magazine picture of what she wanted. These photos are of the original version of the Slouch Beret. When Elizabeth saw it she confessed that she was hoping for something .... bigger, more dramatic. So I sat down and cut out the center of the decrease and unraveled the hat, winding up a ball of the used yarn as I went, down to the last increase row. I then increased more and more and finished it off much as I had the fist time. These pictures are of the Slouch Beret in the more demure Version I |

Version ll looks like this. Here is a picture of Devan showing the giddy pleasures of a really, really big hat. You can see how much more dramatic and over the top it is.
